Blessing Children

Today's Daily Word - Monday, June 18, 2007
I give thanks for the blessing of the children in my life and in my heart. I give thanks for God’s blessings of children and grandchildren of my own and all the children of the world. I find joy in observing children as they find delight in even the simplest aspects of life—the excitement of finding a bug in the garden, the fun of rolling in the grass, the joy of running in the rain.
I am grateful for the love children and I have shared and for the wonderful adults they are becoming or have become. I may not have children or grandchildren in my home, but I thank God for the chance to mentor children who might not otherwise have a positive role model in their lives. I revel in their excitement when they have learned a new skill or mastered a difficult subject.
“Thank You, God, for each and every opportunity to love and work with children.”
“Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”—Matthew 19:14.
