Hurricane IKE

Well Hurricane IKE has passed through our lovely State. Colin and I are great - safe and sound in Blum, Texas thanks to my beautiful Aunt Eve and Awesome Papa Johnny. They are celebrating 23 great years of marriage. Colin and I love them so much and hope they have many more blissful years of happiness. As long as Johnny keeps both feet on the ground! hehe... love ya Johnny.

Amy, Brian and Charlie decided to ride the storm. Their okay a bit of damage but hey Amy was in Insurance for many years -- so THEY'LL BE FINE!! I think all went well with them I was up texting Amy til 2:30am before I headed for sleep. And of as this morning they had no power but they have a generator, so their good.

For me I have to say thank GOD this trip was nothing compared to 2005 when Rita hit -- for those of you who where fortunate enough to not have to deal with that horrific traffic you were the LUCKY ones. The rest of us - including me & Colin (who was 9 months at the time) stood in traffic me well it was 11 hours - Amy, Brian, Charlie (his dad) and the cats - 21 hours. So you can imagine how that was. Upside Colin was Christened that trip so we're blessed.

Hopefully I'll go back home to a place with little damage. For now I'm staying indoors, staying dry for it has now started raining here -- yes IKE is now here but it's nothing like Houston. So to all - I hope you're safe and cool -- we'll keep you posted.

P.S. Colin is doing AMAZING!!!! My little guy is a master on the PC (like mother, like son). He can just work his way around a PC! It's incredible to watch him operate. He's speaking so much better, talking sentences and I watch in awe as he's growing taller and taller. He has my grandfather's hands, my dad's taste for his morning cup of joe, my grandpa Ficklin's amazing ability to say hi to every person in the room and my mother's smile. Who could ask for more?? I'm happy!!! Later Mator's.

Colin - Trying to SING!! Too Funny

Well, as of yet Colin doesn't have Grandpa Ricky's, Aunt Debbe's or his Cousin Joyce's voice, but he's worth listening to. (sad to say he sounds more like me trying to sing, I have faith he'll grow into his voice and sing wonderfully.) It makes me laugh. Veronica used to go crazy when this song came on the radio. Colin started trying to sing it the first time I played it in the truck. So enjoy.... Ev.

I look just like my Grandpa Ricky

My Little Man is Growing UP!

What can I say Mommy definitely misses her little guy. But he looks like he's having fun - I wish I was on Spring Break. Enjoy the pics, Christy.
